Auf Heller und Pfennig - Money, more than just a currency
 | The exhibition documents the exciting cultural history of money, from bartering to plastic money. Stone and tea money, the golden coin of croesus and the Duisburg penny are a few examples of early days of goods traffic. Another main field of research is the varied history of the Deutsche Mark in east and west. Beginning with the first Reichsmark banknotes and coins, the Inflationsgeld up to currency conversion, the exhibition allows the audience an insight into coherences how the Deutsche Mark characterises people's everyday live.

Saving money at school and the history of vessels for saving make out another part of the exhibition. A bank counter demonstrates the processes of money transactions to children and teenagers. For school classes a guided tour can be arranged.
Next to bank notes and coins, objects and archive material, documentary photos and video sequences make up the main part of the exhibition. They were put together by the collector Norbert Müller from Moers, member of the numismatic society.
The exhibition will be hosted by the museum of Neukirchen-Vluyn until 24th of July.
